About Greater Lizzieboro Baptist Church
Greater Lizzieboro Baptist Church is a Baptist congregation in Macon with roots reaching back to 1870, when weekly prayer meetings and a Sunday School for children began in the home of Elder Larey and Sister Mary Larey in Lareysville. The congregation moved to its Fort Hill Street location in 1962 under Rev. Moses (M.D.) Dumas, and the church’s mortgage was burned in 1977. Rev. Derek M. Dumas became the church’s first assistant pastor in 2000 and was unanimously chosen as its eighth pastor in 2006. Current programs include children’s ministry, youth group, and small groups.
