About Congregation Mickve Israel
Congregation Mickve Israel is a Reform Jewish congregation in Savannah’s Historic District on Monterey Square. Founded in 1733, it is described as the third oldest Jewish congregation in America and is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. Its sanctuary, completed in 1878, is described as the only neo-Gothic synagogue in America. The congregation hosts worship every Shabbat and during all Jewish holidays, with a setting shaped by its long history in Savannah and its historic sanctuary.
