Honolulu Japanese Seventh-Day Adventist Church is a diverse, Bible-centered congregation with deep Japanese heritage, established in 1940 as the twelfth Adventist church organized in Hawaii. Rooted in a vision to serve Hawaii's Japanese-speaking community, the church grew from 30 charter members to a thriving family that blends English and Japanese ministry. Housed since 1969 in a distinctive A-frame sanctuary built entirely through donated labor on the historic Cooper estate grounds in Manoa, the congregation remains committed to sharing God's love and grace through culture, compassion, and community engagement. The church actively supports ministries including Adventurer and Pathfinder clubs for children, homeless family assistance through Family Promise, and community wellness initiatives. Visitors are welcomed into a multigenerational community that honors its heritage while serving a world in need.
