Shinshu Kyokai Mission of Hawaii was established on April 14, 1914, by twenty-five Issei immigrants primarily from Hiroshima who gathered to form a charter and establish their community of Jodoshinshu faithful. The mission is rooted in the teachings of Shinran Shonin, emphasizing the life of gratitude and reverence based on Amida Buddha's Primal Vows and the path of Universal Salvation available to all sentient beings. Located in Honolulu, the mission continues to serve as a spiritual home for those seeking to practice the Jodoshinshu Buddhist tradition and connect with a community dedicated to Shinran's teachings.
