About Po'okela Church
Po'okela Church is a historic Church of Christ congregation located in Makawao on the slopes of a 10,000-foot volcano on the island of Hawaii. Founded in 1843 by missionary Rev. Green as a church for Hawaiian congregants, it remains one of the oldest churches in the islands. The congregation is now multicultural and intergenerational, worshiping in a beautifully restored sanctuary that blends historical architecture with modern upgrades. Under the leadership of Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Kimberly Fong, the church is committed to biblical teaching, spiritual growth, and sharing the Gospel with warmth and aloha. The church offers Sunday worship at 9 a.m., along with children's classes, youth programs including the innovative Youth Aviation Pilot Program, and live-streamed services for those unable to attend in person.
