Churches in Frankfort, IL

If you’re visiting on a Sunday, plan ahead because start times vary. Among churches with shared schedules, some begin before 9 AM, while others fall in the 9–10 AM or 10–11 AM range; none in that group start at 11 AM or later. Contemporary worship is the most common style where worship style is known, though a traditional service is also part of the mix. Families may want to look for churches offering kids ministry or youth group, and those hoping to meet people beyond Sunday worship can consider congregations with small groups. A first visit should feel approachable at places described as welcoming, such as St Peter’s United Church, Palmer Park Baptist Church, and Hickory Creek Church.

What stands out is the shared language of welcome, growth, and spiritual formation. Several congregations describe themselves as welcoming communities, while others focus on growing in faith, worshiping Jesus, or serving the local community. Frankfort also has a distinct prayer-and-renewal presence through Portiuncula Center for Prayer, alongside parish, Baptist, Assemblies of God, and intercultural Christian fellowship expressions.
