About St. Mary of Egypt Orthodox Church
St. Mary of Egypt Orthodox Church is an Antiochian Orthodox parish serving southern Indianapolis and south-central Indiana with apostolic teaching and worship. Established in 2007 as a mission by Fr. Athanasius Wilson and founding members, the parish has grown into a diverse community united in Orthodox Christian faith and practice. Currently meeting at Hayden Hall while preparing to build a new home on 14 acres of purchased land, the church welcomes visitors to experience the full liturgical life of the Orthodox tradition. The parish is led by Fr. Peter Cox, who was assigned as rector in 2024, and maintains strong connections to the ancient Antiochian Church established by Apostles Paul and Barnabas. Visitors will find a warm, multicultural community committed to breaking bread together and living out the teachings of Christ.
