About Lutheran Church of Hope+Elim
Lutheran Church of Hope+Elim is a merged congregation born from the 2020 union of Hope Des Moines and Elim Christian Fellowship, located in Des Moines's Drake neighborhood and led by Pastors Jon Anenson and Brian Brown. The church welcomes visitors with an inclusive ethos, inviting people to come as they are and be transformed by God's word. The congregation emphasizes creating and preserving what they call the Beloved Community, rooted in agape love and service to Des Moines. Beyond Sunday worship, Hope+Elim offers numerous ways to connect and grow through small groups, classes, volunteer opportunities, and programming for children and youth including Hope+Elim Kids, PowerLife for junior high, and Ignition for high school students. The church is part of the larger Lutheran Church of Hope network with multiple locations throughout the Midwest.
