Churches in Ulysses, KS

If you are planning a first Sunday visit, most churches that share a schedule begin worship in the 10–11 AM range, with another starting between 9 and 10 AM. Traditional and contemporary worship are both present, so it is worth checking the church’s own rhythm before you go if worship style matters to you. Families will find kids ministry at a few churches, and one church shares a youth group. A Wednesday gathering is available at one congregation, which may be helpful if you are hoping to connect beyond Sunday. First Baptist Church serves as an American Baptist congregation, while Oasis Church and First Assembly of God are Assemblies of God options to consider.

What stands out is how often churches here describe themselves as welcoming and community-minded. Several traditions are represented, but the tone is personal rather than flashy: faith, spiritual growth, walking with Christ, and serving the local community come up again and again. Ulysses United Methodist Church’s welcome to all generations and Shelton Memorial Christian Church’s focus on ministry, mission, and witness reflect that shared emphasis.
