About Christ the King Parish and Student Center
Christ the King Parish and Student Center, located on the corner of Dalrymple Drive and Highland Road in Baton Rouge, serves as a vibrant Catholic community and spiritual hub for Louisiana State University students and parishioners. Founded in 1929 as a mission to serve the spiritual needs of LSU's Catholic population, the parish was formally established in 1980 and underwent extensive renovation with a new church dedicated in 2000. The community emphasizes forming lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ through prayer, the sacraments, and meaningful relationships, with robust ministries including weekly Bible studies, men's holy hours, adoration chapel visits, retreats, pilgrimages, and a comprehensive RCIA program for those interested in becoming Catholic. Christ the King welcomes visitors seeking to deepen their faith and connect with a Christ-centered community dedicated to prayer, worship, missions, service, and spiritual formation.
