About Metropolitan Community Church
Metropolitan Community Church of Baton Rouge is an inclusive, welcoming congregation founded in December 1983 that has served the Baton Rouge and South Louisiana communities for over 40 years. As part of the worldwide Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches, MCCBR provides a message of God's inclusive love and affirms people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, as well as accepting and affirming heterosexuals and anyone seeking an inclusive faith community. The church celebrates and affirms each person for who God created them to be, offering a safe space where worship services are open to everyone. Beyond Sunday worship, MCCBR engages in active Christian social action and community outreach, including food assistance through its "Makin' Groceries" program, support for nursing home residents, school supply drives, and pet shelter aid. Visitors are invited to join the congregation in person or online every Sunday morning, where open communion is offered to all regardless of church membership or denomination.
