About St Patrick Catholic Church

St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lafayette, Louisiana was founded in 1947 as a mission chapel to serve the working poor of the Crapaudville neighborhood. Established under Bishop Jules Jeanmard, the first bishop of Lafayette, the church was completed by Christmas 1946 and formally blessed the following January. Over decades, the parish has grown spiritually and materially, developing a close-knit community that welcomes faithful from near and far to its intimate setting. The church continues its historical commitment to serving those in need and has extended its facilities to support healing ministries, including 12-step recovery programs. Mass remains at the center of parish life, with services offered on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 and 10 a.m., along with weekday celebrations at 7:30 a.m.
