About St Patrick's Church
St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lafayette, Louisiana is a historic parish with roots dating back to 1943, when it was founded as a mission chapel to serve the working poor of the neighborhood then known as Crapaudville. The church building itself was constructed in 1946 and blessed in January 1947, incorporating salvaged materials from St. Ignatius School in Grand Coteau. Over the decades, St. Patrick has grown spiritually and materially under the guidance of successive pastors and the generosity of its parishioners, developing various ministries including support for those in need and welcoming healing communities. The parish centers its life around the daily celebration of Mass and maintains a close-knit community that draws the faithful from near and far. Today under the leadership of Fr. Joshua Guillory, St. Patrick continues its pastoral mission with weekday and weekend Masses, sacramental preparation, and outreach to the surrounding neighborhood.
