The Diocese of Lake Charles, established in 1980 by Pope John Paul II, serves five civil parishes across Southwest Louisiana with 37 church parishes and approximately 25,060 registered Catholic families. The diocese encompasses 5,619 square miles and is organized into four deaneries: North Central, South Central, West, and East, each serving communities throughout the region. With a total population of 302,006 in its territory, the diocese ministers to approximately 90,980 Catholics and maintains six Catholic schools, including Saint Louis Catholic High School in Lake Charles and five feeder schools throughout the diocese.
