About Mount Calvary Baptist Church

Mount Calvary Baptist Church has served the Lake Charles community since 1930, beginning with 46 members and growing to over 1100 by 1958 under the vision of its founding pastor, Rev. D.J. Jones. The church has continued to flourish through subsequent pastoral leadership, expanding its physical footprint with additional properties and completing extensive renovations of its sanctuary, classrooms, and fellowship spaces. Today, Mount Calvary is known for its rich spiritual heritage and commitment to creating a welcoming environment where visitors are treated as valued members of the church family. The congregation gathers each Sunday for worship and offers a variety of ministries designed to foster spiritual growth and community engagement. Located at 300 N. Blake Street, the church maintains an active presence in Lake Charles and is affiliated with both the New Light Missionary and Educational Baptist Association and the Louisiana Home and Foreign Missions Baptist State Convention. Those seeking a church home are invited to experience Mount Calvary's worship experience and consider joining their established fellowship.
