About St Basil Antiochian Orthodox Church
St. Basil Antiochian Orthodox Church is a welcoming multi-ethnic parish of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese located in Metairie, just outside New Orleans. The church traces its mission work to the late 1970s and is currently pastored by the Very Reverend Father Peter Nugent. With over 100 members representing diverse backgrounds from across the world—including Lebanon, Syria, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, and Greece—as well as American converts from Roman Catholicism and Protestantism, the parish embraces persons of all walks of life. The community participates actively in liturgical services, maintains a church school and youth group, and supports ministries including a Men's Fellowship and Ladies Guild. Whether visiting the New Orleans area or seeking a new church home, visitors are warmly invited to experience Orthodox Christian worship and community.
