About Hope Lutheran Church and Student Center
Hope Lutheran Church and Student Center is a welcoming community of growing disciples located in College Park, Maryland, serving students, faculty, and staff from the University of Maryland along with members from the greater Washington, DC area. The congregation celebrates the Lord's Supper each Sunday and treasures biblical hospitality for all people, explicitly affirming that everyone is created in the image of God and deserving of grace. Hope is a Reconciling in Christ congregation committed to the full inclusion of all people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, ability, education, or worldview. The church hosts a variety of ministries and activities ranging from adult forums and multi-generational fellowship events to community outreach programs, and maintains a singing tradition that celebrates music as part of the church's rich liturgical heritage.

Service Format: Worship is held Sundays at 10:30 am both in-person and online, celebrating the Lord's Supper each week with a singing congregation; the first Sunday of each month features Lively Worship designed to engage families with young children in joyful expression of faith. Visitor Tips: Free parking is available in either the upper or lower lot on Sundays; enter from the upper parking lot for worship; all baptized Christians are invited to communion with bread and non-alcoholic wine options, including gluten-free and individual pre-packaged units available; the worship space is on the upper level and is handicapped-accessible; child care is available during services; cushions are available in the entryway; a time of fellowship follows worship to meet community members.
