About St Francis Of Assisi Parish
St. Francis of Assisi Parish is a Roman Catholic Church located in Fulton, Maryland, serving as part of a pastorate shared with St. Louis Parish in Clarksville under the leadership of Fr. Michael DeAscanis. Founded in 1988 as a mission parish, St. Francis has grown from humble beginnings—initially holding Mass at Atholton High School—to a vibrant faith community with its own church building completed in 1998 and the Fr. Dennis P. Diehl Faith Formation Center opened in 2009. The parish embodies its motto, "Let there be no strangers among us," offering a welcoming environment for worship, sacraments, small groups, and community outreach. Visitors will find a diverse range of ministries including youth programs, liturgical volunteer opportunities, and family faith formation, along with seasonal events like the Fall Festival and Christmas Bazaar that bring the community together.
