About St Demetrius Greek Orthodox
St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Parkville, Maryland serves the Greek Orthodox faithful in the Baltimore suburbs. Founded in 1970 by dedicated young stewards following the vision of Archbishop Iakovos, the parish has grown from humble beginnings holding services in school buildings to an established community with its own thirty-acre sanctuary on Cub Hill Road. The church honors Saint Demetrios, the Great Martyr known for his witness during early Christian persecution, and maintains both worship and cultural traditions through its parish life, Greek language school, and active ministries including youth programs and community service organizations.
