The congregation, formally chartered in 1966, moved into its current elegant Moorish-style building in 1998, designed to celebrate Sephardic architectural and spiritual heritage. MDSC is known for maintaining distinctive Sephardic customs, melodies, and traditions while warmly welcoming members of diverse backgrounds. The congregation emphasizes daily prayer, learning, and community care, with active groups including a sisterhood, men's club, and organizations devoted to visiting the sick and honoring the deceased.
