About St George Antiochian Orthodox
St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church is the oldest Antiochian Orthodox parish in Mississippi, established in 1906 by Syrian and Lebanese immigrants who settled in Vicksburg. The church has deep roots in the ancient Orthodox tradition, tracing its faith back to Christ and the Apostles, and welcomes members of various ethnic backgrounds and numerous converts to Orthodoxy. Housed in a modern temple consecrated in 1967, the parish describes itself as a small, warm community of dedicated Christians who care for one another and work together throughout the year. The church invites visitors to experience Divine Liturgy and other services as a way to discover the Orthodox faith and its living spiritual heritage.
