About New Life Evangelistic Center
New Life Evangelistic Center is a non-profit, faith-based ministry headquartered in the Saint Louis area since 1972, founded by Rev. Larry and Penny Rice. Rooted in Christian hospitality and the belief that God's spirit calls believers to serve the poor and homeless, NLEC provides comprehensive support including meals, emergency shelter, clothing, job training, and spiritual care to thousands annually across the Midwest and beyond. The organization operates with a mission to demonstrate God's unconditional love through direct action, serving not only those experiencing homelessness but also working to prevent housing crises before they occur. NLEC's ministry extends through multiple channels, including the Here's Help Network, NLEC TV, and community outreach programs that train formerly homeless individuals in renewable energy and other skilled trades. With over 30 staff members and countless volunteers, the center represents a long-standing commitment to empowerment, dignity, and hope for the most vulnerable in their community.
