About St Matthews Parish Center
St. Matthew’s Parish Center is a Catholic parish in Sidney and the mother church for four missions: St. Bernard’s, St. Catherine’s, St. Michael’s, and St. Theresa’s. Fr. Jim O’Neil serves as pastor for the five parishes. The parish was originally dedicated to St. Philomena in 1917, and a Catholic school building was planned in 1949, with the school continuing until 1971. The community was rededicated to St. Matthew, the Gospel Evangelist, when a new worship facility was completed in 1962. Mass is offered on Saturday evening, Sunday morning, and Tuesday through Friday mornings.
