Dormition of the Theotokos Eastern Orthodox Christian Church, located in Concord just five minutes from the Statehouse, has served the local Orthodox community since 1981. The parish celebrates the full cycle of Orthodox Christian services according to the Traditional Ecclesiastical Julian calendar, with Matins and Divine Liturgy each Sunday and on major feast days, as well as Great Vespers on Saturday evenings. The welcoming congregation comprises families of diverse ethnic backgrounds—English, Greek, Russian, French, Italian, and German descent—including many converts to the Orthodox faith. Services are conducted primarily in English with Greek and Russian available by request. Visitors are always welcome, and a community meal follows the Divine Liturgy each Sunday and on feast days, offering an opportunity for fellowship and connection with the parish family.
