About Citadel of Hope Mission
Citadel of Hope Mission is a non-denominational church located in East Orange, New Jersey, with a rich history dating back to 1972. Founded by the late Rev. Mother Geraldine Powell during her recovery from a severe car accident, the church began as a Sunday school in her apartment and grew to fill every room before expanding to its current location at 70 North Grove Street. Under the leadership of Pastor Rev. Wade M. Barnett, Sr., the church maintains its original mission of reaching souls for the Kingdom of God and strengthening believers through dynamic, Gospel-centered preaching and teaching. The pastor is known for delivering inspirational messages that are accessible and practical for everyday Christian living. Citadel of Hope Mission continues to serve the East Orange community and beyond through various ministries, Bible study, prayer services, and livestreamed worship, inviting all visitors to join in the work of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Service Format: Sunday morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m. with adult Sunday school at 10 a.m., and the first Sunday of each month features a communion service. Services are livestreamed every Sunday at 11:00 a.m., and additional prayer services are held Monday at noon and Friday at 6:30 p.m. on the conference prayer line.
