About St. George's Church
St. George's Church in Howell Township is a Russian Orthodox parish established in 1936 with the blessing of Archbishop Vitaly (Maksimenko). In 2014, St. George's merged with St. Alexander's, and services continue to be held at St. George's at least once a month. Worship is traditional Orthodox and is carried out bilingually in Church Slavonic and English. The parish also supports children’s formation through a Saturday parish school, where students learn the Orthodox faith along with Russian language, literature, history, culture, and related subjects.
