St. Peter is particularly known for its Annual Pumpkin Patch fundraiser, which has evolved into a major community effort raising thousands of dollars for local ministries including the Carlsbad Teri Able Community Kitchen and Carlsbad Transitional Housing & Homeless Shelter. The church also operates a volunteer income tax preparation site since 2007, offering free IRS-certified tax assistance, and participates in Stephen Ministry to provide one-on-one Christian caregiving during times of hardship.
