About Shrine Church of Our Lady of the Americas
The Shrine Church of Our Lady of the Americas is a vibrant, welcoming Catholic community in Albany's western neighborhood with a rich multicultural heritage. Originally founded as three separate parishes—Saint Patrick's in 1858, Our Lady of Angels in 1871, and Saint Casimir's in 1896—serving waves of Irish, German, and Polish immigrants, these communities merged in 2005 and eventually became a shrine church in 2010. Today the parish celebrates its diverse international composition through bilingual worship in English and Spanish, with Sunday masses at 9:00 a.m. in English and 11:00 a.m. in Spanish, plus Friday prayer and adoration at 6:30 p.m. The community continues a long tradition of spiritual presence and pastoral care in the heart of Albany.
