First Congregational Church in Binghamton is a United Church of Christ congregation that practices what it calls "God's extravagant welcome," intentionally reaching out to those who have felt excluded by traditional Christianity or spiritually homeless. The church emphasizes that thinking is welcome, questions are encouraged, and living out Jesus's message through action is central to their faith practice. Partnering with other UCC ministries and diverse spiritual groups that share their facilities, First Congregational works to build a community where people of all backgrounds worship, grow, and serve together while making a positive impact locally and globally. Located at 30 Main Street in downtown Binghamton, the church offers both worship services and a small but talented adult choir that rehearses Sunday mornings.
