St. Nicholas Church is a Greek Orthodox parish located in West Babylon, Brooklyn, New York, with deep roots in the local community dating back to 1959. The church began when five families envisioned bringing Orthodox worship closer to home for Greek families on Long Island, and after receiving their charter from the Archdiocese in March 1959, they celebrated their first Divine Liturgy that April. The parish has grown substantially over decades, moving from temporary locations to their current shrine church dedicated in 1989, which features beautiful iconography, marble altar work, and oak pews. St. Nicholas continues to serve as a vibrant spiritual center, offering Divine Liturgy every Sunday alongside an active calendar of sacraments, educational programs including Sunday School and Greek language instruction, and community ministries such as a food pantry and youth organizations.
