About St. Matthew's Church
St. Matthew's Church is a Catholic parish located in East Syracuse, New York, serving the local community as part of a three-parish linked network that includes St. Francis of Assisi in Bridgeport and St. Mary of the Assumption in Minoa. Under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Stephen P. Wirkes, the parish offers a rich spiritual life centered on the Catholic faith and the belief that Christ died on the cross for our sins to secure an eternal home in heaven. The parish maintains an active community through regular Mass schedules, sacramental life including weekly confession, and vibrant faith formation programs including Bible study groups for both men and women.
