About Mountain Rise United Church Of Christ
Mountain Rise United Church of Christ in Fairport, New York is a vibrant, progressive faith community that has been designated as both an Open and Affirming congregation and a Global Mission Church by the national United Church of Christ. The church welcomes all people regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical ability, creating an inclusive space where diverse beliefs and perspectives are valued. Worship services feature creative elements including music from talented pianists, choir anthems, and on the second Sunday of each month, jazz-influenced music from the House Band. Beyond Sunday worship at 10:00 AM, Mountain Rise offers children's classes, spirituality groups, adult education, and active community service ministries including volunteer opportunities and support for refugee families. The congregation emphasizes that faith engages both mind and heart, approaches Scripture as a living text that reveals new truths, and commits to justice as the social expression of God's love.
