About Kidder Memorial Global Methodist Church
Kidder Memorial Global Methodist Church in Jamestown has roots reaching back to Easter Sunday, April 15, 1906, when it began as a Sunday school. The first classes met in the South Main Street Extension home of Flora and Samuel P. Kidder. A small chapel was built in the summer of 1907, then moved in 1919 to a lot at Cole Avenue and South Main Street after the congregation purchased the property. The present church was built in 1928. In 1968, the congregation became Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church following the merger of the Evangelical United Brethren and United Methodist denominations.
