About St Louis Gonzaga Church
St. Louis Gonzaga Church is a Maronite Catholic parish in Utica, New York. Its local roots reach back to Maronite liturgy in Utica as early as 1885. In 1907, Father Louis Lotaif began celebrating the Maronite Divine Liturgy in the basement grotto of St. John’s Church, and the first St. Louis of Gonzaga Church was dedicated in December 1910. The parish later purchased its current site at Conkling Avenue and Rutger Street in August 1935. Ground-breaking for the new church took place on October 13, 1935, and Bishop Duffy laid the cornerstone on December 1, 1935.
