Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, founded in 1801 by Bishop Francis Asbury, is the oldest Methodist church in Western North Carolina. Located in North Asheville, this historic congregation has served the community for over 224 years, evolving from pioneer gatherings to its current sanctuary built in 1928.
