St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church has served the Asheville community since 1887, rooted in the vibrant 'Land of the Sky.' Under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Douglas Bradshaw Bynum, the congregation gathers to experience the Lord through worship, study, and service while extending their ministry impact beyond the church walls. St. James offers diverse ministries including youth, music, and dance programs, along with opportunities for spiritual growth through intercessory prayer and Bible study.
