About United Lutheran Church
United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks traces its history to the merger of three early Lutheran congregations: Zion, Trinity, and First. The congregation has a long history of ministry in the community, including a radio ministry that began in September 1927 with the broadcast of Rev. Ingvoldstad’s installation and became one of the longest-running radio ministries in the country. Its historic church building, designed by Joseph Bell DeRemer, had its cornerstone laid in 1931 and was dedicated in May 1932. The building is listed on the register of historic buildings in America and includes a 48-rank Casavant tracker-action pipe organ installed in 1964, along with remodeled spaces such as United Day Nursery.
