About Ursulines Of Brown County
The Ursulines of Brown County is a Catholic religious community of women rooted in over 180 years of history in Fayetteville, Ohio. Founded in 1845 by eleven sisters led by Julia Chatfield, the community was established at the direction of the Archbishop of Cincinnati to provide quality education to young women. The sisters have demonstrated Christ-centered responsiveness through various ministries including education, social services, and advocacy for justice and the marginalized. Today, fourteen Brown County Ursulines continue their legacy through leadership roles in education, healthcare, and social justice initiatives across multiple communities.
