About St Nicholas Orthodox Church
St. Nicholas Orthodox Church is a loving, vibrant Christian community located in Saint Clairsville, Ohio, rooted in a rich 100-year history of Eastern European Orthodox tradition. The parish traces its origins to Carpatho-Rusyn immigrants who arrived in the early 1900s seeking a place to worship according to their ancestral faith, formally incorporating in 1911 and completing their church building by 1916. Today, the church remains family-oriented and welcomes both cradle Orthodox Christians and converts, perpetuating cherished traditions while embracing worshippers from diverse backgrounds. Under the leadership of Very Reverend Father Michael C. Kabel, the parish is part of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of North America and maintains an active community life including church school, coffee hours, and various parish ministries.
