About Ugm Mission Store
Union Gospel Mission of Salem is a Christian ministry dedicated to serving those in need through comprehensive services including shelter, meals, and spiritual care. Founded in 1953 by concerned businessmen responding to homelessness in the Willamette Valley, the mission has grown significantly over seven decades to include facilities for men, women, and children across multiple locations. The organization operates from a statement of faith rooted in biblical Christianity and the belief that every person is made in God's image. The Mission Store, located at 885 Commercial Street NE in Salem, serves as a thrift shop where purchases directly support the mission's transformative ministries. By shopping at the Mission Store, visitors contribute to life-changing programs that help vulnerable community members move toward sustainable living and discover hope through Christ.
