About SS Peter & Paul Chapel
SS Peter & Paul Chapel is part of Antiochian Village Conference & Retreat Center, a sprawling 300-acre Orthodox Christian retreat and conference facility nestled in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania near Bolivar. Owned and operated by the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, the center was established in 1978 under the vision of Metropolitan Philip to provide a peaceful setting where the faithful could worship and grow closer to God away from daily distractions. The property carries a rich history of Christian worship spanning more than two centuries, beginning with Scotch-Irish Presbyterian gatherings in the 1700s and continuing through various denominations before becoming an Orthodox ministry. The chapel serves the broader retreat center community, which includes 95 guest rooms, a dining hall, theological library, heritage museum, and walking trails across the beautiful grounds. Today Antiochian Village welcomes more than 12,000 guests annually through its camping programs, conferences, and retreat activities. Visitors are invited to experience the Orthodox spiritual environment and Christian hospitality offered at this peaceful mountain sanctuary.
