About Holy Trinity Orthodox Church
Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Charleroi is an Orthodox parish with roots in 1901, when immigrants from the Austro-Hungarian Empire founded it as Saint John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church. After the original church was destroyed by fire in 1923, a new church was consecrated in 1926 by Metropolitan Platon. The parish has been served by 26 priests since its founding. Very Rev. Gregory Peterson Ph.D. has served as priest since January 2001. Worship follows the liturgical tradition, with Divine Liturgy on Sunday and Vespers and Confessions offered on the weekend schedule.
