About Saint Cyril & Methodius Orthodox Church
Saint Cyril & Methodius Orthodox Church in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, is a historic parish rooted in the Russian Orthodox tradition, founded in 1909 and dedicated in 1910 by Archbishop Platon. The current brick structure with six cupolas was completed in 1915 following a fire and underwent comprehensive renovation in 1980. Located at 520 Scott Avenue atop a hill in this diverse Westmoreland County community about fifty minutes from Pittsburgh, the parish serves the surrounding area including Youngwood, Monroeville, and Latrobe. The church community strives to glorify God through Orthodox worship, genuine care for one another, and service to those in need, welcoming visitors and those seeking to learn more about the Orthodox faith. A kiosk and bookstore in the church vestibule offers pamphlets and Orthodox literature through Ancient Faith Ministries.
