What to Expect: A First-Time Visitor's Guide to Christ Church Philadelphia

Dress Code: Christ Church has a long history and tradition, but you don't need to dress up too formally to visit. The church is also quite cold inside, so be sure to bring a light jacket or sweater.

Service Format: Christ Church holds worship services on Sundays at 8am (spoken), 9am (contemporary), and 11am (traditional). The 11am service is the most well-attended and includes hymns, prayers, a sermon, and Holy Communion. Visitors are welcome to participate in the service or simply observe. Service bulletins are provided to help you follow along.

Tips for Visitors: - Arrive a bit early to have time to find parking and get settled. The church is usually quite busy, especially during the 11am service. - Look for greeters at the entrance who can help direct you and answer any questions. - Feel free to pick up a visitor's packet at the welcome table, which includes information about the church. - Sit anywhere you'd like - there's no assigned seating. Families often sit together. - Don't be afraid to sing or kneel/stand with the congregation, but don't feel obligated if you're not comfortable. - After the service, the clergy are usually available to meet visitors in the back of the church.
