About Saint Pius X Byzantine Catholic Church
Saint Pius X Byzantine Catholic Church, located in Pittsburgh's Central South Hills, has served the Byzantine Catholic community since its establishment in 1954. As part of the universal Catholic Church in full communion with Rome, the parish celebrates the ancient Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom, primarily in English, with both priest and congregation participating through singing. The current church building, dedicated in 1974, commemorates the canonization of the parish's patron saint, Saint Pius X. Visitors are warmly invited to experience this distinctive Eastern Christian tradition within the Catholic faith, where liturgical worship emphasizes communal participation and centuries-old spiritual practices.
