Holy Trinity Orthodox Church is a vibrant Orthodox parish located in State College, Pennsylvania, just three blocks west of campus between College and Beaver Avenues. Founded in 1980 as a campus ministry, the church grew from a small mission of 16 souls in 1993 to a thriving community of over 200 adults and children under the pastoral leadership of Father John Reeves and now Father Ignatius Hunter. The parish is deeply committed to building up the church beyond its immediate congregation through campus ministry at Penn State, outreach to the surrounding region, and partnerships with local charitable organizations. Holy Trinity emphasizes prayer as the essence of Orthodox Christian life, offering regular worship services, educational opportunities for adults and children, and fellowship that embodies the early Christian practice of koinonia or common life. The church maintains an active Sunday School program and sponsors the Orthodox Christian Fellowship at Penn State, having nurtured several alumni who have entered ordained ministry.
