About Vedanta Society-Providence
Vedanta Society of Providence is a non-profit spiritual organization founded by Swami Akhilananda in 1928 to spread the universal teachings of Vedanta in Rhode Island and beyond. As a branch of the Ramakrishna Order established in late 19th century India, the society welcomes people of various religious and spiritual backgrounds to explore the ancient ideals and practices of Vedanta applicable to modern life.
