About Greek Orthodox Paracletos Monastery

Greek Orthodox Paracletos Monastery is a contemplative monastic community dedicated to the Holy Spirit, located in a peaceful rural setting south of Anderson in Abbeville, South Carolina. Established in 2005, the monastery was founded by Abbess Pavlina and two other nuns who came from Greece with the blessing of the Greek Orthodox Diocese of Atlanta. The monastery serves as a spiritual center where the monastic community dedicates itself to prayer, worship, and the preservation of Orthodox Christian traditions. The sisters maintain the monastic life through daily prayer and the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, welcoming Orthodox Christians to participate in the liturgical life of the Church while remaining rooted in the contemplative traditions of Eastern Orthodoxy.
