About Our Lady Of Mercy Outreach
Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach, located on Johns Island, South Carolina, is a Catholic organization dedicated to building equitable communities and empowering individuals to reach their full potential. Established in 1989 by the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Mercy, the organization provides comprehensive services including basic needs assistance, health and wellness programs, educational services, and career development support. The outreach operates from its main location on Brownswood Road and also serves the community through the Neighborhood House on the Eastside of Charleston, which has been part of its mission since 2005. With a focus on holistic support, the organization employs dedicated case managers who work with individuals and families to develop long-term pathways to self-sufficiency rather than addressing single needs in isolation. Services include food pantries, clothing closets, free dental clinics, women's health services, GED preparation, English as a Second Language courses, and job training programs designed to help neighbors achieve their desired path to success.
