Churches in Old Hickory, TN

For a first Sunday visit, plan for a mid-morning start at many churches. Among churches that share Sunday schedules, most begin between 10 and 11 AM, while a couple start in the 9–10 AM range and a couple begin at 11 AM or later. Families may want to look closely at churches with kids ministry, since several offer it, and some also have youth groups. Small groups are available at a handful of churches, which can be helpful if you want a path into community beyond Sunday worship. Traditional worship is the most commonly noted style, though contemporary worship is present too. One church shares a Wednesday gathering, so midweek options may be more limited.

What stands out is the mix of disciple-making language, relational community, and family ministry. Baptist churches are especially well represented, but the city also includes Nazarene, Pentecostal, Catholic, Church of God, Apostolic, and Church of Christ congregations. Temple Baptist Church emphasizes Biblical teaching and passionate worship, while Hermitage Church of the Nazarene focuses on helping people develop a growing, personal relationship with Jesus.
